ANNE "NANCY" COLQUHOUN GRAHAM, Page 2
This is page 2 of the history of Anne "Nancy" COLQUHOUN and Daniel GRAHAM. She was born about 1773, in Scotland, died 1/14/1838 in NC; he was born about 1763 in Scotland, died 11/8/1851; both are buried in Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The couple had 10 children: Mary, Anne ("Nancy"), Daniel, Kichen, Rachael, Margaret, Catharine Jane, Jennet, Augus/Angus, and Christian Graham. Short histories of the families of the children of Daniel and Ann Colquhoun Graham were begun on PAGE 1 and continued below:

- Margaret "Peggy" GRAHAM, child of Daniel and Anne "Nancy" Colquhoun Graham born 9/3/1802 (baptized 9/19 at Bluff Presbyterian Church) married Daniel BAIN 1824 or before. He was the son of John and Effie McKinnon Bain, born 7/26/1801 (baptized 8/30 at Bluff Presbyterian Church, his father called John Bean in the record). Margaret died 2/11/1893, and is buried in Section II, Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. According to researchers of this line, Daniel died 5/8/1882 in Black River Township, Cumberland, NC and is also buried at The Bluff; his grave was not found in the records published in "A Colorful Heritage Documented, the Story of Barbecue, Bluff and Longstreet Presbyterian Churches".
Researchers of this line often confuse the children of the couple with the children of Margaret's sister Catherine and her husband John Bain, brother of Daniel. From the genealogies published to the internet, census records, Colquhoun and Graham histories previously discussed, records of Bluff Presbyterian Church and McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery, and publications from Cumberland Genealogy Society, the couple had at least 6 children. The names of 5 are documented: John, Angus Graham, Daniel, Margaret, and Effie. The name of the sixth child could have been Anne, as researchers are about evenly divided as to a 6th child either named Anne or Nancy. Since Nancy is a common nickname for Anne, we are presuming them to be one individual, the "missing" child disclosed from the following census records:
1840, Cumberland Co., NC. Daniel Bain, head, with family consisting of: 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 10-15, and 1 male (himself) 30-40; 1 female under 5, 1 female 10-15 and 1 female (wife) 30-40.
1850, Cumberland Co. Eastern Division, house 1290/1304: Daniel Bain 49, a farmer, wife Margaret 47, Angus 14, Daniel 13, Margaret 11, and Effie 9.
1860 Cumberland Co. East, Fayetteville PO, house 237/240: Daniel Bain Sr. 58, Margaret Bain 57 wife, Angus Bain 25, Daniel 23, M (a female) 20, Effy 18.
1880 Cumberland Co. Black River Township, house 148/154: Daniel Bain 79,a farmer born in NC, both his parents born in Scotland. Margaret Bain 77, a wife keeping house born in NC, both parents born in Scotland.
If you are a researcher of the families out of Daniel and Margaret "Peggy" Graham Bain, we would like to hear from you. Details on the children of Daniel and Margaret "Peggy" Graham Bain follow.
John BAIN born 4/19/1825, died 2/18/1913, is buried in McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cumberland Co., NC. He married Mary Ann McMILLAN 9/9/1846 (Marriage bond record; D.A. McMillan was bondsman). She was born 11/11/1825, died 3/5/1903 and is buried in McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cumberland Co., NC. The censuses of 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 confirm the names of the children of this couple. In 1860, the family lived next to Neill McMillan. The couple had 8 children; ages of the older children estimated from the census records: James E. Bain born about 1847; John Lynn Bain born about 1849; Catherine Jane Bain born 9/25/1850 (called Jane C. in the 1850 census); Daniel Alexander Bain born 5/22/1852; Samuel Angus Bain born 8/16/1855; Neill W. Bain born 8/1857 (from 1900 census); Mary Margaret Bain born 5/19/1860 (did not marry, died 6/16/1934); and William Douglas Bain born about 1862.
Anne "Nancy" BAIN born 1826-1830. Some researchers have included a younger child named either Anne or Nancy, born after Effie. From the census records referenced above, no younger child of either name was born between 1840 and 1850, but an older daughter was born between 1825 and 1830. Although the name of such child does not have to be Anne "Nancy" Bain, that name will tentatively be used herein, as others have indicated the name. This daughter married or died before 1850, and as she would have been 20-25 at that time, a marriage is presumed. This may be the Anne Bain who married James McMILLAN, son of Daniel and Mary Munn McMillan of Cumberland Co., NC.
No child is included in any census record to account for the gap of 5-9 years between the children of this family. It is possible that one or more children may have been born and died as infants between censuses; however, no marked graves have been identified to account for the gap. With the 1900 census, women began indicating the number of children born to the mother who did not survive to the census, but as Margaret Graham Bain died in 1893, we can only speculate based on the number of years between her known children.
Angus BAIN born 1834-36, died after 1880. According to some researchers, this Angus Bain was buried in McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cumberland Co. He married Margaret Isabella TAYLOR 2/1/1866 in Cumberland Co., NC. She was born about 1847 in NC. The couple had 7 children: John Daniel Bain born about 1867; George Addison Bain born 9/25/1868; Lilly Anabella Bain born about 1872; Ransom A. Bain born about 1875; Oscar E. Bain born about 1877; and Margaret E. Bain born about 1879. The foregoing detail conflicts with several of the published genealogies of this individual. The reasons for compiling the listing in this manner is set forth below.
The second child of Daniel and Margaret Graham Bain was named Angus. According to the censuses, he was born between 1834 and 1836 (he was stated to be 14 in 1850, 25 in 1860, 36 in 1870 and 45 in 1880). This child is the one most commonly confused with Angus, child of Margaret's sister Catherine and her husband John, brother of Daniel. The confusion is resolved by comparison of the two individuals as they appear in the 1860 census out of Fayetteville, Cumberland East, NC. One Angus Bain (spelled Bayne) and wife Mary was living only a short distance from John and Catherine Graham Bain, while the Angus Bain under discussion was 25 years old but still living in the home of his parents. Therefore, this Angus Bain may be ruled out as the Angus Bain who married Mary Jane Hair in 1855. He does, however, appear to be the Angus who married Margaret Isabella Taylor 2/1/1866 in Cumberland Co., NC, and he and his wife are listed in subsequent censuses of 1870 and 1880 out of Black River Township, Cumberland Co., NC with their growing family. The 1870 census includes both families, Angus/Margaret Bain and Angus/Mary Bain. Therefore, it may be stated with certainty that the same Angus Bain did not marry both Mary Hair in 1855 and Margaret Taylor in 1866, and all genealogies showing such marriages appear to be error.
Some researchers also name this child Angus Graham Bain; the censuses do not confirm the middle name. According to several records, this Angus Bain served in F Company, 24th Infantry NC (called the "Cumberland Plough Boys"), having enlisted 6/1/1861 at Bethany Methodist Camp east of Fayetteville, Cumberland Co. His brother Daniel joined at the same time.
Daniel BAIN born about 1837 in Cumberland Co., NC, never married. This Daniel Bain served in F Company, 24th Infantry NC (called the "Cumberland Plough Boys"), having enlisted 6/1/1861 at Bethany Methodist Camp east of Fayetteville, Cumberland Co. with his brother Angus. Some researchers indicate this Daniel Bain died 10/20/1861 in Blue Sulphur Springs, WV, from injuries sustained in Civil War, and is buried at McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery. According to Military Rosters of North Carolina, Daniel B. Bain of Company F, 24th Regiment, served throughout the Civil War, and upon surrender was imprisoned at Elmira. No marker has been found for a grave for this Daniel Bain in McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The published letters of Captain James S. Evans of Company F include confirmation that Daniel Bain was present at the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862. According to Captain Evans, by mid-afternoon the troops were pinned down and low on ammunition, so Col. Harriss ordered Companies E and F to hold fast and Company G (the "Carolina Highlanders") to fall back and regroup. Company G shared its ammunition with Companies E and F, but before long that was also desperately low. At that time, in the words of Captain Evans "Something had to be done. Col. Harriss asked if I had a man who would undertake to carry a message to the ordinance Sergeant, who was in a ravine on the left of the regiment.. . The undertaking of this seemed certain death so I called for a volunteer; immediately Sergeants Hector Strickland and Daniel Bain offered their services, Sergeant Strickland being nearest the Colonel was told to go.. ." The letter goes on to describe how Sergeant Strickland was wounded carrying out the mission.
Margaret BAIN born 12/6/1838 in Black River Township, Cumberland Co., NC, died 9/5/1910, buried at Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She married Haywood Lennon HALL 3/14/1867. He was born 7/20/1844 in Black River Township, Cumberland Co., NC. They had 5 children: Edward Lucien Hall born 4/24/1868; Fulton Rice Hall born 7/1/1872; James Lennon Hall born 5/26/1873; Wilbur Graham Hall born 2/25/1876; Daniel Marshall Hall born 1/1880.
Effie BAIN born 9/7/1841, died 4/4/1934, is buried in James Thomas Matthews Family Cemetery, Black River Township, Falcon, Cumberland Co., NC. She married James Thomas MATTHEWS 3/8/1866. He was born 8/9/1841 in NC, died before 1920. They had at least five children: Daniel Alexander Matthews born 9/5/1866, Augusta C. (E?) Matthews born about 1868, Delia Matthews born about 1870, John Thomas Matthews born 12/20/1877, and Ray-- Matthews born about 1880. The birth years of Augusta, Delia and Ray-- (census record illegible; balance of name cannot be deciphered) is estimated from the 1920 census out of Enumeration District 85, Neills Creek Township, Harnett Co., NC, where in house 33/33, Mrs. Effie Matthews, age 78, a widow, is shown living with 3 of her unmarried children.
Nancy E. BAIN born about 1849 in NC, died after 1880. She married Dougald McMILLAN at an unknown time, but after the 1880 census, where she was shown as single. Nothing further known.
- Catharine Jane GRAHAM, child of Daniel and Anne "Nancy" Colquhoun Graham, born 8/3/1804, was probably baptized at Bluff Presbyterian Church, although the records between 1803 and 1814 have not survived. She married John "Jack" BAIN, Jr. 1821. He was the son of John and Effie McKinnon Bain, born 2/14/1798 (baptized 3/25 at Bluff Presbyterian Church, his father called John Bean in the record). In the 1840 census out of Cumberland Co., this appears to be the John Bain family living next door to Patrick Bain. The growing family is clearly identified in the federal census out of Cumberland Co. in 1850 and 1860. Jack Bain died 6/15/1861, and was buried in Section IV of Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. According to census records, Catharine was head of family in 1870, in the home was her youngest child David, 22. Before 1880 she moved to the home of her daughter Ann (Nancy) Bain McIntyre, where she died 2/8/1881; she is buried beside her husband. The couple had at least 10 children: Daniel Dougald Bain, Mary Margaret Bain, John Bain, Ann Jane Bain, Effie Catherine Bain, Angus Graham Bain, Christian Bain, Hugh James Bain, Dougald Alexander Bain, and David Montrose Bain. Details of the children and their families follow:
Daniel Dougald BAIN, born 3/24/1822, died 2/9/1898, married Sarah McMILLAN 5/12/1846 (marriage records, D.A. McMillan, bondsman). She was born about 1825. Daniel and Sarah McMillan Bain may be buried at Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery, as several of their children are, but no gravestone exists identifying the graves. The couple had 8 children: John A. Bain born 10/1847, Daniel Dougald Bain, Jr. born 1/24/1849, Sarah A. Bain born 4/24/1853, Duncan Evander Bain born 7/14/1855, Nancy Elizabeth Bain born 10/1860, Barbara Jane Bain born 3/1/1862, Margaret Effie Bain born about 1868, and Emily A. Bain born 10/13/1870. Specific dates of birth from gravestone records; approximate birth dates were taken from the censuses 1850-1880 out of Cumberland Co., NC.
Mary Margaret BAIN, born 4/4/1824, died 5/24/1918, married David McMILLAN 3/12/1842. He was born 4/22/1818. The couple had 9 children: Mary McMillan, Liza McMillan, Christian McMillan, Catherine McMillan born 12/6/1848, Dougald Alexander McMillan born 7/5/1849, Henry C. McMillan born 8/17/1849, Daniel B. McMillan born 2/13/1852, Sarah Ann McMillan born 11/23/1853, and Frances McMillan born 2/24/1861.
John BAIN, called "Little Jack" according to notes from the Cumberland Genealogy Society, was born 5/6/1826, died 1/6/1892. He and his wife Susan A. WILLIAMS born 5/19/1833, died 12/28/1900 are buried beside his parents in Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The couple were married 5/7/1853; they were documented in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses out of Cumberland Co., NC. Jack and Susan Williams Bain had 4 children: Duncan J. ("Dicey") Bain, born 6/4/1855 (died 1/7/1862, age 6, is buried beside his parents), John C. Bain born 8/14/1862, Hugh Alexander Bain born 5/12/1866 and Catherine Jane Bain born 12/30/1868. Children of this couple continued to be members of The Bluff, and both John C. (and wife Sallie Brown) and Hugh Alexander (and wife Ella Sessoms) are buried at Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
"A Colorful Heritage Documented, the Story of Barbecue, Bluff and Longstreet Presbyterian Churches" includes stories on the family. The wooden structure of Old Bluff Presbyterian Church burned in 1928, and the members tried desperately to fight the fire and save their Church. When the fire was beyond control, it appeared the wind would carry the flames to nearby homes. It is reported that John C. Bain knelt and began praying that God would turn the fire away from the homes. A fresh wind sprang up and turned the flames, and the homes were spared. Thereafter, the congregation began plans to rebuild the Church, but in 1929, the stock market crash left members with little money. Hugh Alexander Bain offered his store, and the congregation met in the building for worship until the modern building was completed. The building was completed with little money. Hugh Alexander Bain gave $500 to start the construction, but mostly supplies including the bricks for the Church, were obtained by barter, and the members contributed the labor.
Ann Jane "Nancy" BAIN, born 9/28/1828, is the daughter sometimes identified as "Nancy Ann" in various genealogies posted to the internet. She married Dugald McINTYRE 4/16/1849. Nancy died 5/25/1909 and is buried in the Graham Family Cemetery in Cumberland Co., NC. Her gravestone identifies her as "Annie J, wife of D. McIntyre". Dugald McIntyre was born 8/8/1826 and died 5/15/1904. He is buried in the Graham Family Cemetery in Cumberland Co., NC. The couple had 7 children: Daniel James McIntyre born 3/30/1850, Flora Catherine McIntyre born 2/8/1853, Mary Elizabeth McIntyre born about 1856, Malcolm Thomas McIntyre born 2/17/1858, John Roberson McIntyre born 7/16/1860, Hector McIntyre born 4/3/1866, and Margaret Jane McIntyre born 6/1/1869. In the 1880 census out of Black River Enumeration District #57, Cumberland Co., NC in household 16/family 17, is shown: McIntyre, Dougald 53, farmer; Nancy 52, wife; Flora Catherine 37, dau; Mary Elizabeth 24, dau; Malcom T. 22 son; John R. 19 son; Hector 14 son; Margaret J. 11 dau; and Bain, Catharine 75 Mother-in-Law.
Effie Catherine BAIN, born 12/10/1830, married John T. DAUGHTRY 4/16/1849. Nothing further is known about this individual. The last name of her husband is herein spelled as it is in the records of Bluff Presbyterian Church, McMillan Presbyterian Church, and the census records of Cumberland County.
At least two of the daughters of John and Catherine Graham Bain married men named Daughtry. Other members of the extended Bain family were close to the Daughtry family of Cumberland County. In the census of 1870, a Margaret Daughtry, age 22, is shown in the home of John "Little Jack" Bain, Effie Catherine Bain's brother. Many Daughtry family members are buried in the McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery. However, no record of John T. Daughtry has been found.
Angus Graham BAIN, born 9/9/1834, married Mary Jane HAIR 12/13/1855. She was born 1836-37 in Cumberland Co. The couple had at least 7 children: Lovedy Ann Bain born 8/5/1854, Mary Margaret Bain born 7/19/1858, Angus James Bain born 6/11/1859, Elizabeth Jane "Eliza" Bain born about 1860 (some histories give a birth date as late as 10/30/1863 for this individual), Louisa C. Bain born about 1861, Dougald Alexander Bain born about 1862 and Flora Bain born about 1863, all in NC. The foregoing detail conflicts with several of the published genealogies of this individual. The reasons for compiling the listing in this manner is set forth below.
The sixth child of John and Catherine Graham Bain was named Angus. His known date of birth matches the 1850 and 1860 census. This child is the one most commonly confused with Angus, child of Catherine's sister Margaret and her husband Daniel, brother of John. The confusion is resolved by comparison of the two individuals as they appear in the 1860 census out of Fayetteville, Cumberland East, NC. While the other Angus was still in the family home with his parents, Margaret and Daniel Bain in said census, this Angus G. Bain was included in the census with his wife Mary, living only a short distance from John and Catherine Graham Bain. In the home with the couple were Eliza Hare 19, and John A. Hare 13, presumed to be younger siblings of the wife, Mary.
The census is consistent with the marriage record out of Cumberland County, NC for the union between Angus Bain and Mary Jane Hair (bond posted same date as marriage, 12/13/1855, bondsman Angus Bain, witness Robert B. Gilliam; return on bond indicate the marriage ceremony was conducted by D.G. MacRae). As Angus and Mary Bain are also clearly identified in the 1870 census out of Cumberland Co., NC, it may be stated with certainty that this Angus Bain did not also marry Margaret Taylor in 1866, and all genealogies showing such marriages appear to be error. Estimated years of birth for the children were taken from the 1870 census.
Angus Graham Bain served in I Company, 51st Infantry NC, having enlisted 4/26/1862. He died at an unknown date, but after the 1870 census, and was buried at McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery, where the military gravestone includes his unit information.
Christian BAIN, born 5/14/1838, died 3/25/1913, is buried at McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She married James DAUGHTRY 1857 or before. The name of her husband is spelled according to the records of Bluff Presbyterian Church, McMillan Presbyterian Church, and the census records of Cumberland Co., NC. Of this marriage, 3 children were born: John T. Daughtry, Emily Catharine Daughtry, and Hardy J. Daughtry, between 1858 and 1864. After James Daughtry's death, Christian Bain Daughtry married Joel Washington BAIN 3/21/1867. He was born 10/14/1845, died 2/3/1921, and is buried beside his wife in McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Of the second marriage, at least 6 children were born: Daniel B. Bain born 5/1/1868, Joel Bain born about 1870, Walter W. Bain born about 1872, Christian Effie Bain born 5/8/1876, Eva Ophelia Bain born 7/16/1880 and Eloise Bain born 4/14/1884. Several of the children are buried at McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Because of the placement of his grave in McMillan Cemetery, it appears another child, John A. Bain, born 10/27/1886, may be part of this family as well.
Hugh James BAIN, born 10/17/1840, died 12/21/1867, probably related to military service. He served with Company I, 51st Infantry out of Cumberland Co., NC, having enlisted 4/26/1862, as did his brother Angus Graham Bain.
Dougald Alexander BAIN, born 10/21/1843, died 8/16/1863 at Sullivan's Island SC and is buried at Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
David Montrose BAIN, born 3/19/1848, married Sarah Victoria JOLLY. David Montrose Bain died 6/27/1903 and is buried at Jolly Family Cemetery, Whiteville, NC.
- Jennet GRAHAM, child of Daniel and Anne "Nancy" Colquhoun Graham, probably born between 1803 and 1810 in NC, married Angus COLQUHOUN 1/21/1832. He was probably born between 1803 and 1810 in NC. Angus was the son of Archibald Colquhoun, one of the heads of family in Cumberland County in 1790. In that family's genealogy, Jennet Graham was shown as having been born around 1801; however, it is more likely that both Jennet and Angus were born during the period that we have no surviving records from Bluff Presbyterian Church, which would make a first marriage for the couple in their 20s, and is consistent with the monument erected in memory of Jennet Graham Colquhoun in the Alabama Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sibley, LA, which reads "Jeanette Graham, wife of Angus Calhoun, died 1865, 54 years old".
Jennet Graham Calhoun, widow of Angus Calhoun, was one of the heirs of Archibald Colquhoun who executed a deed to Henry Jackson on May 15, 1847, conveying lands in Sampson Co., NC not sold before the family's move to AL. The deed indicates she lived in Coosa Co., AL at the time of execution. The couple had 3 children:
Nancy CALHOUN born about 1835 in NC. At least one researcher has indicated she married John V. HAWKINS. She was listed in the home with her mother in 1850 census out of Coosa Co., AL.
Daniel CALHOUN born about 1838 in GA was listed in the 1840 census out of Coosa Co., AL in the parent's home. According to family lore, the family of Dougald Colquhoun (brother of Angus) included three Daniels: Daniel Blue, Daniel Green and Daniel Red. While all have not been identified, if we take the story to mean the extended family, then this child appears to fit a profile for "Daniel Blue Calhoun", listed by some genealogists with a birthdate of 9/1837 and date and place of death of 11/1868 in LA.
Mary Isabel/Isabelle CALHOUN, born 1841 in AL died 5/23/1918, and is buried in Alabama Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Sibley, Lincoln Parish, LA. Her name is spelled Isabelle on her gravestone, but spelled Isabel in the "Succession of Mary Isabel Thomason nee Calhoun, No. 756 Probate Docket, Third Judicial District Court, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, Ruston, Louisiana" dated June 2nd, 1918. She married Frank M. THOMASON about 1869 in Union Parish, LA. He was born about 1836 and died at an unknown date, before she died.
Among other representations in the probate, the claimants gave testimony that all the siblings of Mary Isabel Calhoun Thomason were dead before 1918. Her estate was distributed to Mary Emiline Calhoun, child of Dougal and Nancy McArthur Colquhoun and Jane Calhoun, daughter of Duncan son of Malcolm Colquhoun. Among other things, that probate indicates a familial relationship between the Malcolm Colquhoun and Archibald Colquhoun of the 1790 census.
- Augus or Angus GRAHAM, child of Daniel and Anne "Nancy" Colquhoun Graham, was probably born about 1810 and died before 1853, as he appears to be the son under 10 listed in the 1820 census and is not included in the heirs of Daniel Graham in probate records. According to Jesse Calhoun, this child never married.
- Christian GRAHAM, child of Daniel and Anne "Nancy" Colquhoun Graham, born 6/23/1811 (date of birth from her gravestone), married Daniel COLQUHOUN 2/5/1840. He was son of John Colquhoun, and grandson of Malcolm Colquhoun (one of the heads-of-family in 1790), born 8/11/1816, recorded in baptismal records of Bluff Presbyterian Church 11/10/1816 as "Donald" (as noted, the substitution of Donald for others known to be named Daniel may indicate that Donald was a common nickname for Daniel). The couple had 7 children before Christian Graham died 3/5/1860. Thereafter, Daniel Colquhoun remarried and had additional children. See the line of Malcolm Colquhoun for detail on the additional children born to Daniel and Martha Ford Colquhoun. Daniel Colquhoun died 3/17/1899. Children of the marriage between Daniel and Christian Graham Colquhoun were:
Nancy Jane COLQUHOUNborn 9/21/1840, died 12/31/1922. She married Daniel Alexander CALHOUN, child of Neal and Elizabeth McMullen Calhoun and her first cousin-once removed. The couple had 8 children: William Sidney Calhoun born 12/02/1867, George A. Calhoun born 3/26/1869, Salee Elizabeth Calhoun born 9/4/1871, Laura Calhoun born 7/10/1877, Kate Calhoun born about 1879 (died at 1 year), Leon Calhoun born about 1880 (died at 1 year), and twins Mabel and Earlie B. Calhoun born 3/6/1882.
Mary Margaret COLQUHOUN born 11/02/1842, died 11/11/1849.
John Graham COLQUHOUN born 1/31/1845, died 2/3/1935. He married Susan Ann THOMPSON 10/25/1866. They had 8 children: Mary Christian Calhoun born 12/16/1867, Jesse Thompson Calhoun born 3/24/1870, Edwin Luther Calhoun born 5/26/1872, Daniel Graham Calhoun born 8/23/1874, Emily Olive Calhoun born 2/9/1877, John Caldwell Calhoun born 9/23/1881, Archie Shepherd Calhoun born 2/6/1884 and Eula Jane Calhoun born 10/12/1888.
Evander NcNair COLQUHOUN born 2/08/1847, died 4/28/1928. He married Martha A. THOMPSON, sister of Susan Ann Thompson 12/24/1867. They had 10 children: Mary Louvana Calhoun born 2/14/1869, Henry E. Calhoun born 2/11/1871, Eva Jane Calhoun born 4/6/1873, Nora Emmie Calhoun born 11/6/1875, Daniel M. Calhoun born 12/22/1876, John Calhoun born 1878 (died 1897), Andrew Calhoun born about 1880 (died as a child), Cora Calhoun born 7/31/1883, Dora Calhoun born 5/9/1885, and Nannie Ella Calhoun born 3/19/1887.
Duncan Caldwell COLQUHOUN born 4/15/1850, died 11/30/1932. He married Ann Katherine McINNIS 10/26/1875. They had 4 children: George McInnis Calhoun born 8/24/1876, Effie Adella Calhoun born 12/5/1879, Daniel Benjamin Calhoun born 8/21/1882 and Sarah Lucy Calhoun born 6/16/1885 (died 8/28/1886).
